Strategies to Overcome Delay and Achieve Your Goals!

Hellooooo everyone! How was you week? Hope it was great!

I have a big announcement for you today: You must’ve noticed the newspaper have changed a little it’s because of 2 reasons:

  1. WE HAVE A LOGO NOW WOOOO 🥳

Well, what do you think?

  1. From now on, the newsletter will be on Beehiiv, a more advanced email newsletter software!

Which is why, the paper you’re gonna read will be a little different. I hope it’s for the better though!

IMMEDIATE CHALLENGE: Study for 1 minute before starting to read the article. Get productive.

Your Weekly Challenge:

Have you been delaying any tasks recently? Maybe it’s that school project or a certain chore(organizing your room maybe?). Whatever it is, write these tasks down wherever you organize your workflow, and set a goal(Be realistic!) for this week to complete as much as you can of these tasks. For example:

Joe’s weekly goals: Workout at least once, Finish my maths homework until Friday, Organize my desk.

Tip on how to succeed in the challenge:

“You need to break down your tasks.

Breaking down your tasks means turning your big list into small, clear and actionable tasks.”

Reflective-thinking question(For the brave!):

Have you tried breaking down your tasks before? Did it work? Why or Why not? Try to explain in as much detail as you can!

Your Weekly Inspirational Story:

“To get out of this cycle, I used two principles.

  1. Make small bite-sized goals.

  2. Make your goal outcome independent. Let me explain this one. Instead of saying that I am going to finish paper X today, (because you may or may not be able to finish it), you say that you are going to work on the paper for x hours.

So, I made a goal that I will work at least 4-hours each day on my research. I try to get that 4-hours as soon as possible so that I can enjoy rest of the day guilt-free.

And this is very important, during the first few weeks.

If you are successful in getting that 4-hours by the middle of the day, don't push and try to get more productivity that day. Just enjoy the rest of the day.

The sense of satisfaction you get by fulfilling your goal and enjoying the day will give you motivation for the next day.

You can be successful each day, and that is incredibly motivating.

I am using a time-tracking app to count my hours. That's another source of motivation.

I find myself looking at the time, and seeing 3hrs 10 minutes and saying to myself: 50 minutes more and you are free.

Another weapon that is required in this battle is to be little mindful.

Every time you have that urge to procrastinate and browse r/Jokes, just stop and pay attention to that urge.

It's the lizard brain. It wants to derail you. Grind your teeth and override. (I know this is the hardest part).”

Tips and Tricks For Maximizing Productivity-Related Apps:

An idea for maximizing todoist lables:

Setting items on @waiting will enable you to always see any items that you couldn’t work on at the present.

For example, let’s say you want to work on your very successful business for 1 hour. However, there’s a BIG test coming up, and it’s… MATHS!🥶.

Because you only have 1 hour left, and the test is TOMMORROW, you put the business task aside. But you need to remember to do the task!

So, you put it in your @waiting and you attack the task later on.

Here’s a small tutorial on how to create a label in todoist:
